Month after Being Bitten By a Rabid Dog, Canoeist Graeme Anderson Dies this Friday

Month after being bitten by a rabid dog, canoeist Graeme Anderson, 29, dies this Friday. Previous reports suggest that Anderson was infected by rabies five weeks ago, after which he was admitted to hospital. It has been reported that doctors after carrying out tests unveiled that Anderson was brain-dead.
It has been revealed that Anderson was since then kept on life-support machines, so as to keep him alive. However, this Friday afternoon, Anderson’s family switched off the life-support machines.
Apart from this, it has been recovered that as soon as Anderson was admitted to the hospital, a Facebook support group was introduced, which has been stated to be flooded with messages and posts from people for the canoeist to get well.
However, after Anderson died, the family received a huge number of messages of love and support even from those, whom they didn’t knew. An acquaintance of Anderson, Caroline Dekker stated that she hardly knew Anderson. However, she strongly felt that the man lived life more than people in their 80s. She emphasized that for him, not even a single day was to waste, and he utilized even a single day. His family believes that the death of Anderson will help raise awareness regarding rabies.
